We had a variety of people doing shifts at the summer festival to help educate the Trenton public about our collective lack of rights.

The wheel made for a great way to explain to people the adoptee experience. We had 14 options that all reflected adoptee stories from adopted people in Michigan, be they transracial, international, or domestic. Many voices were represented collectively.

A HUGE THANK YOU to all that stopped by in support of what we are doing to advocate for adopted people at the Downtown Summer Festival in Trenton. This event has an attendance of approximately 10,000 visitors each year so it was a great opportunity to get used to talking with the public about adoptee rights. This was an excellent experience for the adoptees who took part of advocacy this weekend, and it helped to make stronger advocates out of all of us. We met many adoptees, other triad members and allies who thanked us for being there. We gave out stickers and cards and explained to those that stopped by why it is important to support the Adoptee Citizenship Act.
